Technical Engineer

Location: UK-based (office-based role and client site visits)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (depending on the experience)

About the Role:

The Technical Engineer will play a key role in delivering hands-on IT support across multiple client projects. This includes responding to technical issues, managing infrastructure deployments, supporting websites and custom software, and ensuring client systems are secure and operational.

The role requires a blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and strong communication skills to provide both remote and on-site support across different customer environments. It will also support the smooth delivery of ongoing service contracts and enable the company to confidently expand into larger, long-term projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver on-site and remote technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
• Assist in the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure across client locations
• Troubleshoot technical faults including servers, laptops, routers, firewalls, and operating systems
• Support website and custom software implementation by assisting developers and ensuring technical stability
• Carry out installations, configurations, and updates of operating systems and security tools
• Manage service tickets and maintain accurate documentation of all work performed
• Provide regular feedback and updates to clients and internal teams
• Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards during all service delivery
• Maintain knowledge of evolving technology standards and provide recommendations to improve service delivery


Essential Requirements:


• Hands-on experience in IT support, network troubleshooting, and infrastructure setup
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
• Experience supporting hardware deployments, server management, or data backup and migrations
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritise multiple ongoing tasks
• A commitment to delivering high-quality work in client-facing environments
